During my 25 years of practice I have worked successfully with individuals who have suffered from mild to severe depression. Psychotherapy is the leading treatment for individuals suffering from depression. Individual psychotherapy offers the most attention to individual concerns. Psychotherapy is a unique experience – at its essence, a meaningful, trusting and professional relationship is established, that will guided you through a journey of self-discovery and healing, empowering you to feel better about yourself, including your work and your relationships.
“In the depth of winter I finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer.”
~ Albert Camus
Through regularly scheduled sessions in a consistent, warm and private setting, we may explore childhood and familial experiences as well as your present day experiences - focusing on those vital areas of love, family, work and social environments. An eye is always kept on the goal of discovering a road map for an enhanced and brighter future. Educating, coaching and providing unconditional support for positive change are elements of my style that are seamlessly woven into the work. Psychotherapy helps people to become increasingly self-aware of symptoms of depression and aims to strengthen coping skills.
Often clients present with questions about psychiatric medications or other forms of treatments for their mood disorder. With proper consents, I work collaboratively with your psychiatrist or other health care provider. If necessary, I will make recommendations for complementary therapies or facilitate referrals to additional health care providers.
